The Staples Center and the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Denver Nuggets Friday.
The Los Angeles Lakers shoot for another preseason win after knocking off Sacramento 103-84 on the road Tuesday. The LAL win was a bit on the shocking side considering they trailed 52-39 at the break only to hold the Kings to 32 second half points and outscore them by an unheard of 39-15 in the final 12 minutes. Overall the Lakers won the shooting battle 46%-36% as they obviously cranked up their level of play in the second half. Los Angeles also won the glass 52-38 with most of their advantages coming in the final two periods. Los Angeles was led in the scoring column by Louis Williams and Tarik Black with 15 points each followed by Jordan Clarkson and Anthony Brown with 12 and ten points respectively.

The Denver Nuggets will be looking for another victory after squeezing out a tense 108-106 decision at Toronto in a game that was close throughout. The Nuggets shot the ball well enough at 46% and held the Raptors to 43% but won this at the charity stripe with a 31-21 edge that helped negate Toronto’s 14 more looks at the basket. Toronto had a bit more explosive scoring from a few players while Denver received production from more sources. Jusuf Nurkic paced the Nuggets with 15 points and a game high ten rebounds with Danilo Gallinari netting 15. Will Barton and Nikola Jokic gave Denver 12 points apiece while three others tossed nine points on a combined 10-14 shooting.
Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win and the over is 7-0 in Nuggets last 7 Friday games while Denver are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win. The Lakers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and the under is 4-0 in Lakers last 4 games playing on 2 days rest while the Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games. The Nuggets are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Los Angeles and the over is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles while the Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
The Nuggets displayed some core production from a few players but a lot of balance last time out which is a good thing. I have nothing to take from the Lakers win versus Portland except they need to just play well for four quarters and avoid the highs and lows. No line is out so please check back…
