The Houston Rockets look for a road win at the New Orleans Pelicans in NBA preseason action on Sunday.
The Houston Rockets played Tuesday in a 130-103 victory versus the visiting Knicks and their offense looked to be in midseason form. A 68 point first half explosion led the way with New York not being able to come back. The Rockets won the shooting battle 53.7%-40.6%, hit nine more from beyond the arc and sank eight more free throws so they had advantages throughout. James Harden and Ryan Anderson poured in 28 points and 26 points respectively on 15-27 shooting with Harden handing out eleven assists. Eric Gordon, Trevor Ariza and Nene netted ten points apiece so Houston had explosiveness and balance.

The New Orleans Pelicans haven’t played for five days and that might be a good thing as they need to refine a few things following a 113-96 defeat to visiting Indiana. The game was up for grabs until the Pelicans fell short at both ends of the floor in a 29-18 4th quarter that was decisive. Indiana held a slight 43%-40.8% shooting edge and had 28 more looks at the basket then NO. Buddy Hield tossed in a game high 18 points and snagged five boards on 7-14 from the floor with Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones adding 12 and ten points respectively while combining for eleven pulls. The difference was the Pelicans didn’t have enough contributors.
The under is 7-1 in Houston’s last 8 games following a ATS win and 7-1 in Houston’s last 8 games following a straight up win while going 5-1 in Houston’s last 6 overall. The over is 4-0 in New Orleans last 4 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and the over is 4-0 in New Orleans last 4 overall while New Orleans are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest. The under is 13-3-1 in the last 17 meetings in New Orleans and is 10-4-1 in the last 15 meetings while Houston are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in New Orleans.
