The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks meet Monday night in NBA preseason ball at the Philips Arena.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are 2-0 in preseason ball after beating up on the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers. The Cavs have combined for 21 made threes and have turned the ball over just 24 times in both games combined. LeBron James has played 30 minutes in the preseason, producing 22 points and eight assists while Kyrie Irving has 15 points and three assists in 19 minutes of action. Jordan McRae has racked up 40 points off the bench and Kay Felder has five assists. The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing a nice job of getting the rust off their starters while giving their young guys chances to prove themselves. The defending champion Cavaliers don’t have much to prove in exhibition play but still want to find some depth that would help them make another run at the trophy.

The Atlanta Hawks are 1-1 in preseason action and are coming off a loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The Hawks are a combined 13-39 from beyond the arc and have racked up 55 assists in two games. Malcolm Delaney has produced 17 points and eight assists while Walter Tavares has 21 points and 17 rebounds. Taurean Prince has 17 points and eight rebounds and Will Bynum has 15 points off the bench. The Atlanta Hawks should be a rested team after not playing a lot of guys against the Spurs, which included giving the day off to Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard and Kent Bazemore. This will be the Hawks first preseason game on their home court.
The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and the under is 3-0-1 in Cavaliers last 4 road games. The Hawks are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 Monday games and the under is 4-1 in Hawks last 5 home games. The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Atlanta and 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings overall.
This is a huge line for a preseason game, especially when the Cavs are the defending champs and have a bunch of young guys playing well right now. The Cavs are likely going to rest a lot of key guys, so that's why the Hawks are a heavy favorite. However, preseason game, you take the big points whenever you can.
