The Washington Wizards and New York Knicks meet Monday night in preseason NBA at Madison Square Garden on NBATV.
The Washington Wizards are 1-1 in preseason action and are coming off an overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Wizards managed to score 125 points despite shooting just 5-20 from three, and it has a lot to do with shooting 48 percent from the field. Overall, Marcin Gortat has been a bright spot for Washington, as he has combined for 17 points and 12 rebounds while Kelly Oubre Jr. has scored 40 points off the bench. Bradley Beal has played a combined 39 minutes this preseason and John Wall has yet to play in the preseason due to a knee injury. The Washington Wizards have looked like two different teams in their first two contests and they still don’t have their top player on the court. The jury is still out on the Wizards.

The New York Knicks are also 1-1 in preseason ball and are coming off a win over the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks should be feeling good after shooting 53.6 percent from the field and making 12 threes in the win over their in-state rival. Carmelo Anthony has produced 26 points and six rebounds in two games while Kristaps Porzingis has 34 points and 10 rebounds. Chasson Randle has chipped in 18 points off the bench and Brandon Jennings has nine assists. Joakim Noah has yet to make his New York Knicks debut. The New York Knicks are still a major question mark entering the regular season and a lot of it has to do with the fact their starting lineup has yet to play together. Either way, there’s a lot of optimism in New York.
The over is 5-1 in Wizards last 6 overall. The Knicks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and the under is 10-1 in Knicks last 11 games following a straight up win. The Wizards are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in New York and 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Knicks have looked better than the Wizards in the first two games and Washington still doesn't have its best player on the court. The Knicks are getting impressive play from some of their role players, while the Wizards have been hit or miss overall. I'll take the home team and small line here.
