The Atlanta Hawks and the Detroit Pistons take the hardwood at Phillips Arena Thursday.
The Detroit Pistons come off of an 86-81 defeat to San Antonio as they couldn’t solve the Spurs defense. The SAS took an eleven point lead in to the locker room and were never able to completely catch up. Nether team shot the ball well with both sinking shots at around 41% with Detroit coming up just short on threes and the foul line. Andre Drummond paced Detroit with 17 points and a game high 13 rebounds on 8-13 followed by 14 points, five yanks and five assists coming from Jon Leuer. Tobias Harris and Lorenzo Brown combined for 20 points as the Pistons didn’t have a lot of scoring options with seven players not even playing.

The Atlanta Hawks are going for another victory after knocking off defending NBA champion Cleveland 99-93 on Monday night. This was an even battle with the Hawks scoring and defense being on the same page especially during a 26-20 4th period that broke open a tie game. The Hawks held the Cavaliers to 39% shooting while countering at almost 46% with a 2-19 effort from beyond the arc which nearly cost them a game that shouldn’t have been close. Atlanta had four double digit scorers with Dwight Howard pouring in a game high 26 points and eight boards with Thabo Sefolosha tossing in 12 while Mike Muscala and Taurean Prince netting ten points apiece.
The under is 8-0 in Pistons last 8 games playing on 2 days rest and the Pistons are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest while the Pistons are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Thursday games. The under is 4-1 in Hawks last 5 home games and is 9-3 in Hawks last 12 overall while going 5-2 in Hawks last 7 games playing on 2 days rest. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and the Pistons are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings.
I'm taking Atlanta because Ibelieve their combination of scoring and defense will be too much to ovrcome for the Pistons.
