The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers play a NBA preseason game Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena on NBATV.
The Golden State Warriors play the end of a preseason back-to-back and are coming off an overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets. In the win, the Warriors shot 45.9 percent from the field and made 17 threes. Stephen Curry has scored 35 points in his last two games and Klay Thompson has made 10 thres in his last three games. Kevin Durant has scored 19 or more points in three straight games and Draymond Green has grabbed a combined 17 rebounds all preseason. Considering the Golden State Warriors are the overwhelming favorites to win the NBA title, preseason is all about knocking off the rust and keeping players healthy. As long as those two things take place, the Warriors will be in great shape regardless of the outcomes that take place in the preseason.
USA TODAY Sports
The Los Angeles Lakers look for a statement preseason performance after losing three of their last four games. The Lakers are coming off a Thursday loss to the Kings in which they allowed 58.7 percent shooting and allowed 13 made threes. D'Angelo Russell has scored 21 or more points in three of his last four games while Jordan Clarkson has scored 12 or more points in all five games. Nick Young has 37 points in his last three games and Brandon Ingram is 2-7 from three in his last two games. The Los Angeles Lakers are showing some serious promise in the first few games, as Russell has been lights out all preseason and Clarkson is more than holding his own. Luke Walton and the Lakers may be an interesting team in year one, after all.
The Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and the under is 6-2-1 in Warriors last 9 overall. The Lakers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games. The Warriors are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings and the under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
Both teams have shown the ability to score in the preseason and defense has been subpar at times for both clubs. The Warriors are also coming off a long, dragged out overtime game where there could be tired bodies on the court for some. I like both offenses to do what they want, so give me the over in this matchup.
