The Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat play a NBA preseason game Saturday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 2-1 in preseason play and are coming off a Wednesday win over the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves shot 41.5 percent from the field and turned the ball over 16 times in the victory. Karl-Anthony Towns has racked up 42 points and 24 rebounds in three preseason games while Andrew Wiggins has 46 points and two steals. Gorgui Dieng has grabbed 19 rebounds and Shabazz Muhammad has scored double-digit points in every game. The Minnesota Timberwolves have looked sharp for the most part this preseason and are getting contributions from just about the entire team. The Timberwolves will be a dangerous regular season squad if the young guys continue to establish confidence.

The Miami Heat will play the end of a preseason back-to-back after beating the San Antonio Spurs Friday night. In the victory, the Heat shot 48.3 percent from the field and made 11 threes. Hassan Whiteside has posted three double doubles in three of his last four games while Goran Dragic has dished 17 assists in his last 53 minutes of play. Derrick Williams has scored a combined 34 points in his last three games and Dion Waiters has dished 18 assists in his last four games. The Miami Heat have been a fun team to watch this preseason and are getting solid play out of many guys who are expected to part of the rotation. However, you can expect many Miami Heat starters to have their minutes limited given that they just played last night and will have three preseason games left after this one.
The Timberwolves are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Heat are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games. The Timberwolves are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings and the under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
The Timberwolves probably have the advantage here having not played yesterday and catching the Heat on the end of a back-to-back. However, the Heat have looked like the better team and have been surprisingly fun to watch. Whiteside, Dragic, Waiters and others look like different players and have pretty much owned the preseason. In a pick em, I trust the Heat more to get the victory.
