The San Antonio Spurs match up with the Houston Rockets in the last game of the NBA preseason.
The Houston Rockets have enjoyed a pretty good NBA basketball preseason at the offensive end because that is their specialty. The Rockets did plenty of scoring in a 106-91 victory at Dallas on Wednesday and showed us a bit of defensive ability as well. There were no big scoring swings but Houston won each period behind 43% accuracy while the Mavericks checked in at 37% which added up to six more field goals. James Harden was in mid season form with a game high 29 points and eleven helpers for the Rockets followed by Ryan Anderson with 14 points. Eric Gordon was next in line with 13 points while Clint Capela netted 12 points and hauled in 13 rebounds with KJ McDaniels chipping in with ten.

Even in the NBA basketball preseason we can still see that the San Antonio Spurs still but great value in playing defense. However, no matter how good a team is at doing a certain thing, it doesn’t always work out as the Spurs found out in a 108-100 defeat at the hands of visiting Miami. The Heat went on a 33-20 third period run then held of a late SAS come back. The Heat sank shots at 48% and San Antonio countered at 44% for a difference of five baskets. Kawhi Leonard and Dewayne Dedmon paced the Spurs attack with eleven points apiece while Tony Parker, Pau Gasol and Jonathon Simmons scored ten points each.
The under is 7-1 in Rockets last 8 games following a ATS win and the under is 7-1 in Rockets last 8 games following a straight up win while the under is 5-1 in Rockets last 6 overall. The Spurs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 3 or more days rest and the under is 7-1 in Spurs last 8 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game while the under is 6-1 in Spurs last 7 home games. The Rockets are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in San Antonio and the over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in San Antonio while the over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
I'm taking San Antonio but it's risky because the starts might never see the floor on either side.
