The Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls do battle at the United Center on Thursday night.
The Celtics kicked off their season with a 122-117 win over the Nets at home last night. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 25 points and nine assists, Jae Crowder added 21 points while Avery Bradley chipped in with 17 points and five assists as the Celtics led by as many as 23 points before some sloppy play from the bench players allowed the Nets to come back into the game and keep the final score respectable.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have yet to kick off their season but Wednesday night gives them the opportunity to reveal their new-look starting lineup which boasts two new additions in Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade, two solid perimeter defenders to pair with their rising star in Jimmy Butler. Unfortunately the Bulls lack scoring in their front court and overall depth in their roster which could be disastrous should Rondo or Wade suffer injuries. Still, there's plenty to look forward as Butler emerges as the clear leader and face of the franchise.
In ATS trends, the Celtics are 40-17-1 ATS in their last 58 games playing on zero days rest but just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, while the Bulls are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven against Eastern Conference opponents.
Head to head, the Celtics are 7-15-2 ATS in the last 24 meetings overall and just 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Chicago.
The Celtics don't have a strong record ATS when playing the Bulls, but the Celtics looked great for most of the game last night and should be too good for a new-look Bulls team who'll be trying to figure it out on the fly. Take the Celtics to improve to 2-0 on the season with a narrow victory in this one.
