The Charlotte Hornets travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Friday night.
The Hornets kicked off their season with a solid 107-96 win over the Bucks in the season opener. Kemba Walker steered the offense with 17 points and eight assists, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the scoring with 23 points while Roy Hibbert added 15 points while anchoring the defense with five blocks as the Hornets jumped all over the young Bucks early in the game to lead by 15 points going into halftime before taking their foot off the gas in the second half and cruising to victory.

Meanwhile, the Heat were also winners in their first game of the season, beating the Magic by 108-96 on Wednesday behind 18 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks from Hassan Whiteside. Goran Dragic chipped in with 16 points and six assists while Justise Winslow added 15 points as the Heat outscored the Magic by 74-36 in the paint. Defensively, the Heat held the Magic to 38.6 percent shooting from the field while winning the rebound battle by 52-44 to cap off a solid all-round performance from the new-look Heat.
In ATS trends, the Hornets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a win and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points, while the Heat are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 against Eastern Conference opponents.
Head to head, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the over is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings in Miami.
Both of these teams have started the season on the right foot, so it'll be interesting to see how this one turns out. In one looks like an even matchup at this early stage of the season, this one really feels like a coin toss, but I'm leaning towards the Heat to get the job done and come out with their first home win of the season behind a big night from Whiteside.
