The New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons do battle at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday night.
The Knicks looked like a complete mess in their season opening blowout loss to the defending champs, but they regrouped and were good enough to take down the Grizzlies by 111-104 on Saturday in their first home game of the season. Kristaps Porzingis led the team with 21 points, Carmelo Anthony had 20 points, Derrick Rose added 13 points while Joakim Noah played the role of playmaker from the center position, chipping in with six points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. The Knicks will be delighted with the win, but maybe a little disappointed about their inability to blow the game out early as they were up by 43-25 early in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the Pistons will be shooting for a third straight win following their dominant 98-83 home win over the Bucks on Sunday night. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the scoring with 21 points on seven of 13 shooting, while Tobias Harris added 16 points, but with Andre Drummond have such a size advantage in the paint, the Pistons went to him early and often and he finished with an impressive stat line of 20 points with 23 rebounds. The Pistons are now 2-0 at home where they will play two of their next three games before embarking on a tough four-game road trip.
In ATS trends, the Knicks are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on two days’ rest, while the Pistons are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 home games against a team with a losing road record and 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.
Head to head, the Knicks are 16-6 ATS in the last 22 meetings overall and the under is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings in Detroit.
The Knicks looked real good in their first win at home on Saturday, but their back on the road and playing a Pistons team coming off a second straight win. I think the Knicks are a good team but still a work in progress, so I'm leaning towards the Pistons to stay hot and get the win tonight.
