The Indiana Pacers play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.
The Lakers kicked off their season with a win over the Rockets at home, but they’re suddenly in danger of losing a third straight after falling to the Thunder by 113-96 on Sunday night. Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell led the team with 20 points apiece while Nick Young added 16 points, but the scoring contributions elsewhere were few and far between as the Lakers shot just 40 percent from the field to go along with 21 turnovers. The Lakers won’t be too disheartened with the loss as they were able to hang tough for most of the game until the Thunder pulled away in the fourth quarter behind a second straight triple-double from Russell Westbrook.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are also coming off a second straight loss, falling to the Bulls by 118-101 on Saturday in a one-sided affair. Paul George and Myles Turner led the team with 20 points each but this game was over before halftime as the Pacers just didn’t have an answer for the ball movement and balanced scoring of the new-look Bulls. In fact, the Pacers were behind by as many as 29 points before a late push in the fourth quarter kept the final score from being a complete blowout.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 road games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a loss, while the Pacers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Indiana.
The Lakers are still a bit of a mess with the young backcourt running the show, but the Pacers are still a work in progress themselves so I just feel the value is with the Lakers and the points in this one.
