The Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz duke it out tonight at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Mavericks are still without a win this season after three games following Sunday's 93-92 road loss to the Rockets. Wesley Matthews led the team with 25 points, JJ Barea added 18 points with five assists off the bench while Deron Williams had 12 points, but it just wasn't enough to get past the Rockets who beat them for thesecond time in three days. Dirk Nowitzki was absent from the game with illness and a sore Achilles tendon for a second straight game, but he did complete in team practice and is expected to suit up tonight.

Meanwhile, the Jazz lost two of their first three games to start the season, but are suddenly full of confidence following last night's106-91 win at San Antonio. George Hill led the way with 22 points and seven assists, Rodney Hood added 19 points while Trey Lyles chipped in with 15 points off the bench, but it was the 3-point shooting that was the difference as the Jazz connected on 15 of 31 attempts from behind the arc. It wasn't the most clinical of wins from the Jazz are they allowed the Spurs to come back from a 47-31 deficit in the second quarter, but they did turn it on in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Spurs by 33-20 to snag the marquee win.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team below .400 and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games, while the Jazz are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Mavs are 7-2-1 A TS in the last 10 meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Utah.
The Jazz will be feeling pretty good following their win over the Spurs last night, but you always see teams have a bit of a letdown performance after a big win so this looks like a danger game for them. I'm going with the veteran Mavs to bounce back and claim their first win of the season.
