The Houston Rockets invade the Verizon Center on Monday night to battle the Washington Wizards.
The Rockets have now lost two of their last three games following their 112-97 defeat at Atlanta on Saturday night. James Harden flirted with a triple-double, pouring in 30 points to go with nine rebounds and 12 assists but he just needed more support from his teammates. KJ McDaniels added 13 points, Ryan Anderson and Clint Capela chipped in with 12 points each while Trevor Ariza had 10 points, but no other player finished in double figures as the Rockets slumped to just 38 points in the second half. With the loss, Houston is now 3-3 on the season and 2-3 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Wizards will be eager to earn a win tonight after losing to the Magic by 88-86 on Saturday night. Marcus Morris led the scoring with 18 points, Bradley Beal added 15 points while Otto Porter Jr. chipped in with 10 points and 13 rebounds but it wasn't enough to beat the Magic who stormed home with a dominant 27-16 fourth quarter thanks to their second unit. John Wall was rested for the game as the Wizards look to ease him back into the season following offseason knee surgeries, but he is expected to suit up on Monday.
In ATS trends, the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-6 ATS in their last seven against the NBA Southeast, while the Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against the Western Conference.
Head to head, the Rockets are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Washington and the road team is 17-5 ATS in the last 22 meetings overall.
The Wizards haven't had the start to the season that they were hoping for, but you just know they will get on a run sooner or later. With that being said, it's just too hard to back Wizards until they turn it around, so I'm sticking with the Rockets who have owned this matchup in recent seasons.
