The Dallas Mavericks travel to the Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
The Mavericks lost their first five games of the season but are suddenly aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Lakers in a 109-97 victory last night. Harrison Barnes led the team with a breakout performance of 31 points, Seth Curry provided the spark off the bench with 23 points while JJ Barea chipped in with 18 points and eight assists as the Mavs shot 52.4 percent from the field to beat the Lakers for the 11th consecutive time. Dirk Nowitzki missed his second straight game with a sore Achilles while Deron Williams sat out with a strained calf muscle. With the win, Dallas improves to 2-5 on the season and 1-3 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Warriors were desperate to bounce back at home after getting routed by the Lakers and they did that with a 116-106 home win over the Pelicans on Monday. Kevin Durant finished with 22 points while Klay Thompson added 24 points, but this night was all about Stephen Curry who drained an NBA-record 13 three pointers to finish with a season-high 46 points on 16 of 26 shooting. Perhaps the Warriors should have done a better job of blowing out the shorthanded Pelicans team at home, but while the game was relatively close, you always had the feeling that the Warriors were in total control of this one. With the win, Golden State improves to 5-2 overall and 2-1 at home.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record, while the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the Mavs are 18-39-1 ATS in the last 58 meetings overall and 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State. The favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
Nowitzki won't be suiting up for this game which is a big loss for the Mavs, but the Warriors haven't exactly been blowing away the competition so I'm taking the Mavs with the points in this one.
