The battle for New York resumes tonight as the Brooklyn Nets battle the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks have lost three of their last four and are coming off a 114-109 loss to the Jazz. Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony led the team with 28 points each while Derrick Rose added 18 points with eight assists but in a tight contest, it was actually the Jazz who struck first, pouring in nine straight points to kick off the fourth quarter and take the game away from the Knicks. With the loss, New York drops to 2-4 on the season and 1-2 at home.

Meanwhile, the Nets will be aiming for their third win in four games after taking down the Timberwolves by 119-110 last night. Brook Lopez led the team with 26 points, Trevor Booker added 15 points while Sean Kilpatrick had 14 points off the bench as the Nets took down the Timberwolves with their ball movement and balanced scoring. As a team, the Nets didn't do a great job of protecting the ball, finishing the game with a total of 20 turnovers but they did manage to shoot a healthy 55.3 percent from the field compared to the Wolves' 42.4 percent. With the win, Brooklyn improves to 3-4 on the season and 3-2 at home.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games, while the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400.
Head to head, the Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in New York and the home team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
Few people would have predicted the Nets to be travelling better than the Knicks but it's still very early in the season and both teams are experiencing some growing pains. With that being said, the Knicks should be able to get past the Nets who played just last night, but I'm thinking this game will be a close one right till the end.
