The Philadelphia 76ers invade the Toyota Center to battle the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
The 76ers were aiming for back to back wins for the first time this season, but after sneaking past the Pacers on Friday, they just weren't able to hang with the Hawks in a 117-96 loss on Saturday. Jahlil Okafor led the scoring with 18 points, Sergio Rodriguez added 13 points while Dario Saric added 12 points but in a tight contest it was the Hawks who pulled away with an 8-0 run late in the third quarter. Despite the loss, the Sixers will be happy with their effort as they were able to stay competitive despite being shorthanded and playing on the second night of a back to back set. Philadelphia is now 1-8 overall and 0-3 at home this season.

Meanwhile, the Rockets were going for a third straight win before losing to the Spurs by 106-100 on Saturday night. James Harden led from the front with a triple-double of 25 points with 11 rebounds and 13 assists but he did have seven turnovers while Eric Gordon led the scoring with 27 points off the bench, but it still wasn't enough to get past the Spurs who they had already beaten back on Wednesday. As a team, the Rockets shot just 38.2 percent from the field with Ryan Anderson finishing with shooting figures of one of 13 from the field and they continue to rely heavily on their three-point shooting where they connected on 15 of 47 against the Spurs.
In ATS trends, the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, while the Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 5-0 ATS in their last five against the NBA Atlantic.
Head to head, the 76ers are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Houston.
The Rockets really shouldn't have any trouble beating the Sixers by double digits in this one, but they've been far from convincing in their two home games this season so I'm actually going with the Sixers to stay competitive and sneak away with the cover.
