The Los Angeles Clippers travel to the American Airlines Arena to do battle with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
The Clippers are sitting pretty atop the Western Conference standings and they'll be aiming for a fourth straight win after taking down the Raptors in a 123-115 home win on Monday. Chris Paul steered the offense with 26 points and 12 assists, Blake Griffin added 26 points with seven rebounds and seven assists while JJ Redick chipped in with 20 points as the Clippers outlasted the Raptors in tight contest. Despite their recent success, the Clippers aren't satisified at all with their defense which has allowed an average of 106.3 points per game in the last seven outings and that really speaks to how focused they are as a team, because they've lost just one of their last 11 games.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks will be looking to snap an ugly six-game skid after falling to the Spurs by 96-91 on Monday. Playing without key starters in Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut, the Mavs were always in for a tough night, but they were able to really make a game of it thanks to 23 points from Seth Curry and 20 points apiece from Harrison Barnes and Wesley Matthews. In fact, the Mavs had a real chance to win the game but Barnes missed the go-ahead basket with 15 seconds left on the clock. With the loss, Dallas falls to 2-11 overall which is their worst start since 1993-1994.
In ATS trends, the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games but 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall, while the Mavs are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings but the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
Bogut, Nowitzki and Williams are all listed as questionable to play tonight so be sure to check of their availability beforehand, but even if they do suit up, I just feel it's a lot to ask for the struggling Mavs won't be able to hang with the Clippers. LA are looking like a settled and focused team at this early stage of the season so I'll back them to win this one by double digits.
