The Miami Heat travel to The Palace of Auburn Hills to battle the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
The Heat were gunning for a third straight win on Monday when they travelled to Philadelphia, but instead they fell to the Sixers in a 101-94 defeat. Hassan Whiteside led the way with a career-high 32 points on 13 of 19 shooting, Dion Waiters added 19 points while Goran Dragic had 10 points with seven assists, but in a tight contest, it was the Joel Embiid and the Sixers who came out on top to win their fourth straight at home. With the loss, Miami drops to 4-9 overall and 2-4 on the road, but they'll have plenty of opportunities to improve on that record as they play eight of their next 11 games on the road.

Meanwhile, the Pistons will be hoping to snap a four-game skid after falling to the Rockets by 99-96 on Monday. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the team with 26 points, Andre Drummond and Marcus Morris added 13 points each while Ish Smith chipped in with 10 points and eight assists as the Pistons lost despite leading by double digits early in the game. With the loss, Detroit drops to 6-9 on the season and 5-2 at home where they had won their first five before losing their last two.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a home record above .600, while the Pistons are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings and the Home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
The Pistons will be starving for a win as they've lost their last four, three of which came by three points or less but it's going to be a tough one against the Heat who will want to atone for their loss to the Sixers in their last outing. I know the Pistons have lost their last two at home, but I'm sticking with them to grind out a win over the Heat in a low scoring affair.
