The San Antonio Spurs and the Washington Wizards do battle at the Verizon Center on Saturday night.
The Spurs have won their last eight games and they're still undefeated on the road following last night's 109-103 win over the Celtics. Kawhi Leonard led the scoring with 25 points, Patty Mills added 19 points off the bench while David Lee and Davis Bertans chipped in with 15 points apiece as the Spurs overcame an early 14-point deficit to outlast the Celtics in a tight contest. With the win, San Antonio improves to 13-3 overall and a perfect 9-0 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Wizards will be aiming for a third straight win and fourth in five games after sneaking past the Magic in a 94-91 win on Friday night. John Wall led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists, Otto Porter Jr. chipped in with 19 points while Bradley Beal chipped in with 14 points and wight assists as the Wizards held on for the narrow victory after surrendering a 17-point lead in the first quarter. With the win, Washington snaps a five-game road skid to improve to 5-9 overall and 1-5 on the road this season.
Looking at the trends, the Spurs are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight road games but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Wizards are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games playing on zero days rest and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the Spurs are 21-7-2 ATS in the last 30 meetings overall and 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Washington.
The Wizards have shown signs of life with three wins in their last four outings, but the last two wins came against easy competition in the Suns and the Magic so it's hard to really gauge their progress at this early stage of the season. With that being said, the Spurs haven't really been all that convincing despite their success to start the season, but it's getting hard to ignore their perfect 9-0 road record so that's where I'm leaning in this one. Take San Antonio to pull away late and get the win and cover.
