The New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers do battle at the STAPLES Center on Monday night.
The New York Knicks have lost six of their last eight games and they'll be hoping to bounce back after falling to the Nets in a 121-110 loss on Thursday. Kyle O'Quinn led the way with 23 points off the bench, Derrick Rose added 22 points, Carmelo Anthony had 17 points and Lance Thomas chipped in with 15 points but it still wasn't enough to get past the Nets. The Knicks were poor on the defensive end and it really showed in the second half where they were outscored by 67-49. With the loss, New York dropped to 27-42 on the season and 16-18 at home where they have lost three of their last four.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have won five of their last nine games and they were able to snap a three-game skid with a 108-78 win over the Cavaliers who were shorthanded for the game. Blake Griffin led the team with 23 points, JJ Redick added 16 points while DeAndre Jordan and Jamal Crawford chipped in with 13 points each as the Clippers cruised past the Cavaliers who were playing without LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love who were all rested for the game at the last moment. With the easy win, Los Angeles improved to 41-29 on the season which is currently good for fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Knicks are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall but a healthy 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Los Angeles. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Los Angeles.
The Clippers haven't been in the best of form but they'll know that the playoffs are just around the corner so they can't afford to miss out on wins over easier competition like the Knicks. Give me the Clippers to roll by double digits at home in this one.
