The Washington Mystics and Seattle Storm meet Sunday in WNBA action at the Key Arena.
The Washington Mystics look for their first road victory to get a game above a .500 record. The Washington Mystics are averaging 89 points on 47.2 percent shooting and allowing 86.5 points on 47.5 percent shooting. Elena Delle Donne is averaging 25.5 points and 3.5 rebounds while Tayler Hill is averaging 17.5 points and 3.5 assists. Kristi Toliver is the third double-digit scorer and Emma Meesseman is grabbing 6.5 rebounds. The Washington Mystics are shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Mystics are allowing 45 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32 rebounds per game. The Washington Mystics have lost eight of their last 11 road games.
The Seattle Storm also look for a big win here after a 1-1 start to the season. The Seattle Storm are averaging 77.5 points on 50 percent shooting and allowing 80 points on 45 percent shooting. Jewell Loyd is averaging 26 points and 3.5 assists while Crystal Langhorne is averaging 15 points and six rebounds. Breanna Stewart is the third double-digit scorer and Ramu Tokashiki is grabbing 2.5 rebounds. The Seattle Storm are shooting 31 percent from beyond the arc and 92.3 percent from the free throw line. The Seattle Storm are allowing 48.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 30.5 rebounds per game. The Seattle Storm have won six straight home games.
The Mystics are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Sunday games. The Storm are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 Sunday games, 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Mystics are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings, the over is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings in Seattle and the over is 21-10 in the last 31 meetings.
This is two teams I was high on heading into the season, as the Mystics have offensive firepower for days, while the Storm are balanced and have one of the top players in the league in Stewart. For me, this game comes down to homecourt, as the Storm have played extremely well at the Key and are ready to string some wins together now that Breanna is back on the court. I'm not sure the Mystics can get enough stops to win this game and they haven't been great on the road dating back to last season. Give me the Storm and the reasonable chalk.
