The Line: Oklahoma City +1 -- Over/Under: 218 See the Latest Odds

The Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder collide in their NBA preseason opener.

The high scoring Houston Rockets open up the preseason slate with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. The high scoring Rockets finished second in the Southwest at 55-27 which was six games behind the front running San Antonio Spurs. Houston possessed the second ranked offense that averaged just over 115 points while the 26th ranked defense gave up close to 110 points so the run and gun style of play worked out well. The Rockets are known for their fast paced offensive performances and although this team has plenty of weapons, all eyes will be on guard James Harden who not only lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 29 points but he was tied for the team lead with eight rebounds and led the team with eleven assists. The Rockets made a big splash when they added guard Chris Paul to the mix so we’ll see how the two stars share space on the basketball court.

Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma Thunder - 10/3/17 NBA Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Oklahoma City Thunder's first year without Kevin Durant might have been better then most had anticipated with a 47-35 record and a second place finish behind the Utah Jazz in the Northwest. Just four games behind the Jazz despite losing a superstar seems like a success but the Thunder were hurt a bit offensively with 106.6 points scored to rank number eleven while allowing just under 106 points which was 16th. The obvious problem is OKC gave up too many points or perhaps don’t score enough? Oklahoma City lost Durant but are not devoid of star power with Russell Westbrook averaging a monster 31.6 points and 10.7 rebounds to garner the MVP. The Thunder also added Indiana Pacers star Paul George to the lineup so star power is alive and well in Oklahoma City but depth might not be.

Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and over is 4-1 in Rockets last 5 road games and Rockets are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games overall. Thunder are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games and under is 3-0-1 in Thunder last 4 Tuesday games and Thunder are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. Rockets are 7-0 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Oklahoma City and Rockets are 12-3 ATS in the last 15 meetings and under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Oklahoma City.
