The Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks meet Wednesday in NBA preseason action at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The Indiana Pacers will lay their first preseason game tonight and have just three exhibition games against NBA teams. The Pacers have a new look roster that includes three new starters in Darren Collison, Victor Oladipo and Bojan Bogdanovic, so it’s going to take some time for this team to gel and play team basketball. However, when you add them with a potential all-star in Myles Turner, the Pacers have the potential to be that dark horse playoff team in the East that nobody is talking about. The one concern with the Pacers is that there’s only a handful of guys who were on this roster last year, so adjusting and getting comfortable may take time, something that sometimes results in slow starts. The Indiana Pacers are one of those teams I’ll be watching closely this season, as they have the potential to be better than expected.

The Milwaukee Bucks look for a bounce back performance after losing to the Dallas Mavericks, 106-104. In the losing effort, the Bucks shot 49.4 percent from the field but had 20 turnovers, which rarely results in victories. Rashad Vaughn led the Bucks with 20 points and three steals while Khris Middleton had 12 points and three assists. John Henson was the third double-digit scorer and Greg Monroe grabbed seven rebounds. The Bucks are one of those teams that know what they have already with a solid returning core, and they topped 100 points without playing Giannis Antetokounmpo. If the Milwaukee Bucks can find some guys who can chip in offensively off the bench, this preseason is a victory. Based on one preseason game, Vaughn looks like he may be one of those guys who is ready for more minutes.
The Pacers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The under is 4-0 in Bucks last 4 home games and 4-1-1 in Bucks last 6 Wednesday games.
Even with no preseason game under their belt yet and being on the road, I still see value in the Indiana Pacers and the free points. One, 6.5 points is a lot to lay in meaningless games, but I also think the Indiana Pacers are going to be better than most think this season, as I previously mentioned. It also seems like the Bucks are going to be careful with Antetokounmpo and his minutes. I'll take my chances with the free buckets and the road team.
