The Golden State Warriors battle the Minnesota Timberwolves in their second game of the preseason. The Warriors dropped their opener 108-102 to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. The GSW were outshot 44.4%-41.5% which was a decent effort defensively but Denver was potent from beyond the arc with a 13-28 performance. Three point shooting was the difference in the game with Golden State connecting on just 4-33 which says the team should tried something different. Stephen Curry led the Golden State attack with eleven points on 3-12 from the floor while Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson scored ten points apiece with Draymond Green hauling in a game high eight rebounds. Overall, 18 players saw the floor for Golden State although the projected starting five received the most minutes.

The Minnesota Timberwolves opened the preseason on a positive note with a 108-99 victory versus the Los Angeles Lakers as a four point favorite. The Timberwolves were up nine points heading to the locker room before the teams traded baskets over the final 24 minutes. The Lakers won the shooting battle 44.6%-41.6% but this game was decided at the charity stripe where the Timberwolves sank a whopping 16 more free throws. Shabazz Muhammed tossed in a game high 22 points on 7-12 shooting with 18 points and nine rebounds coming from Taj Gibson followed by Karl-Anthony Towns with 15 points and six boards. Gorgui Dieng added 14 points on 7-12 and hauled in a game high 12 rebounds followed by an eleven point, nine assist effort from Jeff Teague as Minnesota had plenty of options.
