The Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs meet Sunday in NBA preseason action at the AT&T Center.
The Denver Nuggets look for another victory to improve on their solid 3-0 preseason record. In Wednesday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Nuggets shot 56 percent from the field and made 15 threes. Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 22 points and seven rebounds while Jamal Murray had 20 points and two assists. Juan Hernangomez was the third double-digit scorer and Emmanuel Mudiay dished five assists. The Nuggets have topped 100 points in all three preseason games and have made a combined 30 threes in their last two games. The Denver Nuggets were expected to make that jump this season as a playoff team in the West, and while it’s just preseason, it’s hard to argue that this team will be one to watch. This is the fourth straight road game for the Nuggets.

The San Antonio Spurs look for a victory here after a 1-1 start to exhibition play. In Friday’s win over the Sacramento Kings, the Spurs shot 55.4 percent from the field and made 15 threes. Danny Green led the Spurs with 20 points and three rebounds while Patty Mills had 15 points and six assists. LaMarcus Aldridge was the third double-digit scorer and Pau Gasol grabbed seven rebounds. The Spurs have scored a combined 213 points in two preseason games and are doing this without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker playing in either game. The Spurs are doing a great job of monitoring everybody’s minutes and are simply making sure everyone is fresh for when the games actually count. The San Antonio Spurs play their next two preseason games at home before ending things in Houston on Friday.
The Nuggets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games. The over is 6-1 in Spurs last 7 games following a ATS win and 6-0 in Spurs last 6 home games. The Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in San Antonio, 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the under is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings in San Antonio.
The Spurs continue to rest their key players and are simply waiting for the regular season to begin, as Pop always does. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are a solid 3-0 and all three victories have come on the road. Sure, two of those wins came against the baby Lakers, but it's tough to argue with results. I'll take my free bucket with the undefeated squad, as it's where the value is at based on the way their first few games have gone.
