The Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings meet Monday in NBA preseason action at the Golden 1 Center on NBATV.
The Portland Trail Blazers look to build on back-to-back preseason victories and play their second road game. In Portland’s win over the Clippers, the Trail Blazers shot 52.9 percent from the field and made 13 threes. Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 35 points and three rebounds while CJ McCollum had 20 points and two assists. Jusuf Nurkic was the third double-digit scorer and Meyers Leonard grabbed 10 rebounds. The Trail Blazers lit the Clippers on fire offensively in Sunday’s victory, which included 43 second quarter points and 24 assists on 45 made baskets. The Portland Trail Blazers have now combined for 240 points in their last two games, and if they can shoot like that come regular season, this will be a dangerous and fun team to watch this season.

The Sacramento Kings look to snap a string of back-to-back losses after a 1-2 start. In the Kings loss to the Lakers, Sacramento shot 31.3 percent from the field and made seven of 25 threes. Zach Randolph led the Kings with 16 points and six rebounds while Garrett Temple had 12 points and one assist. George Hill grabbed eight rebounds and Bogdan Bogdanovic dished three assists. The Kings are coming off a brutal performance Sunday in which they scored just 69 points and shot a percentage you expect of high school teams. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Sacramento Kings rebound from such a dreadful performance where nothing went right on either end, especially with it being a rare back-to-back preseason game.
The Trail Blazers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest. The Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss. The Trail Blazers are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Sacramento and the under is 23-8 in the last 31 meetings.
This is a rare back-to-back preseason game for both of these teams, so minutes may be limited for key players. And while it probably makes sense to take the points and the home team, I can't after how poorly the Kings played last night. If both of these teams play anywhere close to the way they did yesterday, this will be a blowout victory for the Portland Trail Blazers. I'll eat the chalk with the road team.
