The Miami Heat pay a visit to Little Caesars Palace to take on the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
The Miami Heat have won four of their last six games and they will be hoping to cap off their six-game road trip on a high note after Friday’s impressive 84-74 win at Utah. Dion Waiters led the team with 21 points, Goran Dragic added 18 points while Hassan Whiteside chipped in with eight points and 20 rebounds. As a team, the Heat shot just 39 percent from the field while committing 20 turnovers to fall behind by 12 points at the halftime break before they flipped the script in the 20-8 third quarter to outscore the Jazz by 47-25 in the second half. With the win, Miami improved to 6-6 on the season and 3-3 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have won seven of their last eight games and they will be aiming for a fifth straight after Friday’s 111-104 win over the Hawks. Reggie Jackson led the team with 22 points, Avery Bradley added 22 points, Ish Smith provided the spark off the bench with 17 points while Andre Drummond and Tobias Harris each scored 16 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the three-point line as they hung on for the narrow win after surrendering a 19-point second quarter lead. With the win, Detroit improved to an impressive 9-3 on the season and 6-1 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 13-3 A TS in their last 16 road games against a team with a winning home record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Meanwhile, the Pistons are 7-1 ATS in their last eight Sunday games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings and the Heat are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Detroit.
The Heat looked great on the defensive end as they shut down the Jazz on Friday and they will be eager to cap off their road trip with a win, but the Pistons have been on fire lately and they’re proving to be tough to beat at home this season. This should be a close one but I have to give the edge to the Pistons at home where they’ve won five straight.
