The Washington Wizards and the Miami Heat duke it out at the American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been on a bit of a roll with four wins in their last five games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after making light work of the Kings in a 110-92 rout on Monday. John Wall led the way with an efficient 21 points on eight of nine shooting to go with nine assists, Marcin Gortat added 18 points while Otto Porter Jr. and Mike Scott added 15 points each. As a team, the Wizards shot 52 percent from the field and had six players finish in double figures as they recovered from a slow start to pull away from the Kings in the second half. With the win, Washington improves to 8-5 overall and 5-3 at home.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have won three of their last five games but they will be looking to bounce back after having their two-game win streak snapped by a 112-103 loss at Detroit. Hassan Whiteside led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds, Goran Dragic added 18 points with seven assists while Dion Waiters chipped in with 16 points and five assists. As a team, the Heat shot just 43 percent from the field and their defense allowed 57 points in the second half as they were unable to contain the Pistons who were led by 25 points from Tobias Harris. With the loss, Miami fell to 6-7 on the season and 3-4 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Meanwhile, the Heat are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record, 0-9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games and 4-9-2 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings in Miami, the Wizards are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami.
The Heat will be eager to get back on the court and make up for their disappointing loss at Detroit, but they’ve run into a red-hot Wizards team coming off three straight wins by double digits. The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games while the Heat are 0-9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games, so that makes this decision easy for me. I’m taking the Wizards as the underdogs in this one.
