The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Utah Jazz at the STAPLES Center on Thursday night.
The Utah Jazz are starting to play some of their best basketball of the season and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Nuggets in a 106-77 blowout on Tuesday. Derrick Favors led the way with an efficient 24 points on 12 of 16 shooting, Donovan Mitchell added 16 points while Jonas Jerebko added 15 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the three-point line, but they really couldn’t get ahead in the game until the second half where they outscored the Nuggets by an incredible 58-28. With the win, Utah improves to 10-11 on the season and 9-4 at home.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers look to have shaken off their nine-game skid as they’ve now won three straight after taking down the Lakers in a 120-115 win on Monday. Lou Williams led the scoring with 42 points on 12 of 21 shooting, Blake Griffin added 26 points with 11 rebounds and six assists while Austin Rivers added 19 points with six assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the three-point line as they held the Lakers to just two points in the final 2:56 to come away with the narrow victory to improve to 8-11 overall. Unfortunately, Griffin went down with a knee injury and is expected to miss up to two months.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.
The Clippers were dealt a real blow when Griffin went down with the knee injury as they don’t really have anyone else that can do what he does. I just feel that this is a bad time for the Clippers to be meeting the Jazz who are definitely playing some of their best basketball of the season. I think the Jazz stay hot with a narrow win in this one.
