The Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the Capitol One Arena on Friday night.
The Detroit Pistons have won four of their last five games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Suns in a 131-107 rout on Wednesday. Reggie Jackson led the way with 23 points in just 22 minutes of action, Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley each scored 20 points while Ish Smith chipped in with 14 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 57 percent from the field and they never looked in danger as they led by 17 points after the first quarter and by as many as 36 points in the fourth quarter. With the dominant win, Detroit have improved to 14-6 on the season and 8-2 at home.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have lost five of their last seven games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short in Wednesday’s 118-113 loss at Philadelphia. Kelly Oubre Jr. led the team in scoring with 22 points off the bench while Bradley Beal and Jodie Meeks added 21 points apiece. As a team, the Wizards shot 40 percent from the field and nine of 22 from the three-point line as they fell behind by 18 points at halftime before pouring in a season-high 48 points in the fourth quarter to pull to within three points with 39 seconds left on the clock. John Wall was once again on the sidelines with a knee injury and is expected to miss another two weeks.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Meanwhile, the Wizards are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Friday games.
Head to head, the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings and the Pistons are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings.
The Wizards have been struggling since Wall went down with the knee injury but they're still capable of taking down the Pistons at home. Unfortunately, the Pistons have been playing their best basketball of the season and should be good enough to take advantage of the Wizards while they're playing shorthanded. This should be a close contest but I think there's plenty of value with the Pistons as road underdogs in this one.
