The Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks do battle at the American Airlines Center on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent form and they will be itching to get back on the court after having their three-game win streak snapped by the Jazz in a 126-107 loss on Thursday. Austin Rivers led the team with 25 points and six assists, Lou Williams added 20 points with five assists while Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 54 percent from the field and 10 of 29 from the three-point line but they couldn’t hang with the Jazz who dominated the second half by 65-46. Blake Griffin sat this game out as he is dealing with a MCL sprain which could keep him out for up to two months.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have split their last six games and they will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday’s 109-104 loss to the Nets. Harrison Barnes led the scoring with 17 points, Maximilian Kleber added 16 points, while Dwight Powell finished with 14 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 27 from the three-point line but they were sloppy in the second half which cost them against the Nets who were playing without their leading scorer in D’Angelo Russell. With the loss, Dallas dropped to 5-17 on the season and 3-10 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home, 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games, 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record and 6-15-1 ATS in their last 22 games following a loss.
Head to head, the over is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings overall and the over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Dallas.
The Clippers have been struggling with injuries for a while now, but things went from bad to worse when Griffin went down with that knee injury. The Mavericks haven’t been world beaters, but they’re playing some of their best basketball of the season and look to have caught the Clippers at the right time. With that being said, with home-court advantage I think the Mavericks should be good enough to get the win and cover against this shorthanded Clippers outfit.
