The Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets collide at the Pepsi Center on Saturday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers have lost eight of their last 11 games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling just short in a 127-123 overtime loss to the Warriors on Wednesday. Brandon Ingram led the way with a career-high 32 points on 12 of 21 shooting, Jordan Clarkson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points each while Julius Randle chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and nine of 24 from the three-point line to push the Warriors for 48 minutes and force overtime, but that’s where Stephen Curry shined as he scored 13 points to finish with 28 points for the game. With the loss, LA dropped to 8-13 on the season and 6-6 at home.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have split their last eight games but they will be looking to build on Thursday’s 111-110 win over the Bulls. Will Barton led the team with a career-high 37 points off the bench, Gary Harris added 21 points while Kenneth Faried finished with a double-double of 14 points with 13 rebounds in his third consecutive start at power forward. As a team, the Nuggets shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the three-point line but they won this game with defense as they held the Bulls to just 42 points in the second half after allowing 39 points in the first quarter alone. With the win, Denver improved to 12-9 overall and 9-2 at home where they have won six straight.
Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games, 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win.
Head to head, the over is 19-6-1 in the last 26 meetings, the Lakers are 5-13 ATS in the last 18 meetings and 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Denver.
There is no official word on wheter Wilson Chandler will be available for this game, but even if he doesn't play, I have to give the edge to the Nuggets in this one as they've been playing better basketball. The Nuggets have covered in four of their last five home games while the Lakers have been poor on the road all season, so I'm sticking with the home team to get the win in this one, but only just.
