The Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks at the Philips Arena on Monday night.
The Brooklyn Nets are in need of a win as they’ve lost five of their last seven games after falling to the Hawks in a 114-102 loss on Saturday. Spencer Dinwiddie led the way with 15 points, six rebounds and nine assists, Joe Harris added 13 points while Allen Crabbe chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Nets shot just 41 percent from the field but they connected on 17 of 42 from the three-point line to keep them in the contest until the fourth quarter where the Hawks poured on 33 points to run away with the game. With the loss, Brooklyn dropped to 8-14 on the season and 4-6 at home where they have lost three straight.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have lost five of their last seven games overall but they were able to snap a two-game skid with a 114-102 win over the Nets on Saturday. Dennis Schroder led the team with 24 points and six assists while Luke Babbitt added 20 points in just 21 minutes off the bench. As a team, the Hawks shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the three-point line and they had to do it without John Collins and Dewayne Dedmon who were both out with injuries. With the win, Atlanta improved to 5-17 on the season and 3-9 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a double-digit loss at home and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. Meanwhile, the Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the under is 12-3-1 in the last 16 meetings, the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the Nets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
These two teams have already met twice this season and it was the Hawks who won both meetings by 12 points. I want to take the Nets to bounce back from their loss on Saturday, but they’re just so low on troops and have struggled on the road all season. This is a game I’d rather stay away from, but if I had to choose, I’d go with the Hawks to get the win and cover in this one.
