The Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks duke it out at the Bradley Center on Friday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have won four of their last seven games but they will looking to bounce back after losing at Boston by 97-90 on Wednesday. Harrison Barnes led the team in scoring with 19 points on eight of 15 shooting, Dirk Nowitzki added 16 points while Maximilian Kleber added 13 points with five blocks. As a team, the Mavericks shot 39 percent from the field and nine of 28 from the three-point line as they really took it to the shorthanded Celtics in the first half before getting outscored by 50-33 in the second half. Dennis Smith Jr. got into it with Boston’s Kyrie Irving, but he lost this battle as he scored just 12 points on four of 16 shooting. With the loss, Dallas dropped to 7-18 on the season and 2-8 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have won four of their last five games and they will be looking to build on Wednesday’s 104-100 win over the Pistons. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Eric Bledsoe added 22 points while Khris Middleton chipped in with 21 points and six assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the field and eight of 22 from the three-point line as they used a decisive 14-1 run in the fourth quarter to overcome a monster night from the Pistons’ Andre Drummond who poured in 27 points with 20 rebounds and six assists. With the win, Milwaukee improved to 13-10 on the season and 7-4 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. Meanwhile, the Bucks are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record, 0-3-1 ATS in their last four home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win.
Head to head, the home team is 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, the Mavericks are 5-0-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Milwaukee.
The Mavericks have been playing some of their best basketball of the season but they will be kicking themselves after missing out on beating the Celtics after having them in trouble in the first half. The Bucks have been playing some of their best basketball themselves as Bledsoe continues with his new team. The home team has covered in six of the last eight meetings while the Mavericks have covered in five of the last six meetings so this one could go either way. With that being said, I’m going with the Mavericks and the handful of points in what I think will be a close contest.
