The Miami Heat pay a visit to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden on Wednesday night.
The Miami Heat have won four of their last six games but they will be hoping to bounce back after losing to the Hawks in a 110-104 road loss on Monday. Josh Richardson led the team with 26 points on 10 of 19 shooting, Dion Waiters added 23 points with five assists while Tyler Johnson chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Heat shot 45 percent from the field and seven of 25 from the three-point line but they just couldn’t get over the line without keys players in Hassan Whiteside, Goran Dragic, James Johnson and Justise Winslow. With the loss, Miami dropped to 15-15 overall and 9-8 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have won four of their last six games and they will be gunning for a third straight win after escaping Indiana with a 112-111 win on Monday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 30 points led the way with 30 points on 12 of 23 shooting, Jayson Tatum added 16 points while Al Horford racked up 14 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the Celtics shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 16 of 26 from the three-point line but the game went down to the last play where Terry Rozier got the steal and bucket with time expiring to give the Celtics the unlikely win after trailing by as seven points with 4:10 remaining. With the win, Boston improved to 26-7 overall and 13-4 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss. Meanwhile, the Celtics are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Heat are 6-13 ATS in the last 19 meetings overall and 6-15 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Boston.
The Heat have been playing pretty well lately, but they’re down on troops and things will get tougher before they get easier as they take on the red-hot Celtics. I think this game will be a close one but I have to go with the in-form Celtics to get the job done at home while the Heat are so shorthanded.
