The Indiana Pacers pay a visit to the United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
The Indiana Pacers have lost five of their last eight games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling to the Mavericks in a 98-94 home loss on Wednesday. Myles Turner, Darren Collison and Lance Stephenson each finished with 16 points while Bogdan Bogdanovic chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 25 from the three-point line but they just couldn’t hang on for the win as the Mavericks closed the game with a 12-4 run in the final 5:00 of the fourth quarter to run away with the game. With the loss, Indiana dropped to 19-16 overall and 11-8 at home where they have lost four of their last five.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have won nine of their last 11 games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Knicks in a 92-87 home win on Wednesday. Kris Dunn led the team with 17 points and five assists, Lauri Markkanen added 12 points while Robin Lopez and Justin Holiday each scored 11 points. As a team, the Bulls shot just 40 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the three-point line as they started slow and trailed by as many as 15 points in the second quarter, but they were able to ramp up their defense and hold the Knicks to just 35 points in the second half to escape with the unlikely victory. With the win, Chicago improved to 12-22 overall and 8-8 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 against the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings, the under is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings and the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
The Pacers have been in a bit of slump but they will be looking forward to taking on the Bulls who they have already beaten twice this season. However, the Bulls have actually been one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference lately and I look for them to keep things rolling with a third straight win. The home team has covered in 13 of the last 19 meetings and I expect that trend to continue in this one.
