The San Antonio Spurs pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been on a roll as they’ve won six of their last seven games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Knicks in a 119-107 win on Thursday. LaMarcus Aldridge led the team in scoring with 25 points on eight of 19 shooting, Pau Gasol added 17 points while Kyle Anderson finished with 16 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 51 percent from the field and nine of 20 from the three-point line as they dominated the second half by 65-54 to run away with the game after leading by just one point at halftime. Kawhi Leonard was rested on Thursday after playing 26 minutes on Tuesday, but the Spurs now have to deal with an injury to Rudy Gay who left Thursday’s game with soreness in his right heel.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have won five of their last seven games but they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the slumping Magic in a 102-89 loss on Thursday. Tobias Harris led the team with 21 points, Ish Smith added 18 points while Andre Drummond racked up 17 points with 18 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Pistons shot just 39 percent from the field and nine of 23 from the three-point line but in the second half, it was the Magic’s backup centers who took over in the second half where the Pistons were outscored by 52-39. With the loss, Detroit fell to 19-15 overall and 8-10 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win of more than 10 points, 4-0 ATS in their last four against the Eastern Conference and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Meanwhile, the Pistons are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings and the Spurs are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
The Spurs continue to pile on the wins while managing their injuries and the Pistons were playing some of their best basketball of the season before laying an egg against the Magic. I’m tempted to take the Pistons with the points at home, but I’m sticking with the more reliable Spurs who have covered in five of the last six meetings.
