The Sacramento Kings pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers at the STAPLES Center on Saturday.
The Sacramento Kings have lost eight of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling to the Clippers in a 121-115 loss on Thursday. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team in scoring with 22 points off the bench, George Hill added 21 points while Zach Randolph chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Kings shot 49 percent from the field and eight of 26 from the three-point line but they just couldn’t get over the line despite rallying back from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter. The Kings actually had the lead with 1:56 left in the game. With the loss, Sacramento dropped to 13-28 overall and 7-13 at home where they have lost two straight and five of their last six.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form as they’ve won seven of their last nine games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after their win over the Kings on Thursday. Lou Williams led the team with 30 points and six assists while shooting 10 of 24 from the field, Montrezl Harrell added 25 points on 11 of 12 shooting off the bench while Blake Griffin returned from a two-game absence and finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Clippers shot a healthy 51 percent from the field but they had to regroup after blowing a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Clippers were actually trailing in the final two minutes but they were able to recover and close the game on a 9-2 run. With the win, LA improved to 20-21 overall and 9-12 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record, 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 road games against a team with a winning home record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record, 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a win and 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 games overall.
These two squads met just a couple days ago and the Kings will still be feeling the sting from the narrow loss. I expect the Kings to come out firing as they look for revenge but I think it'll be the same result as the Clippers are on a bit of a tear, while the Kings have struggled since their upset win over the Cavaliers back in December. Give me the Clippers to get the win and cover in another high-scoring affair.
