The Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers collide at the Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night.
The Houston Rockets have won 10 of their last 12 games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after taking down the Spurs in a 102-91 road win on Thursday. James Harden led the way with 28 points and 11 assists, Gerald Green provided the spark off the bench with 15 points while Chris Paul chipped in with just 10 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the three-point line but it was their defense that was impressive, especially in the first quarter where they held the Spurs to just 14 points to open up an early double-digit lead. With the win, Houston improved to 37-13 overall and 17-7 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to play a little better as they’ve won three of their last four games and they will be looking to build on Wednesday’s 91-89 win over the Heat. LeBron James led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Channing Frye added 16 points off the bench while Isaiah Thomas chipped in with 13 points while shooting just two of 15 from the field. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 35 percent from the field and six of 26 from the three-point line, but they did a better job of attacking the basket leading to 38 trips to the charity stripe. With the win, Cleveland improved to 30-20 overall and 19-6 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 against the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are 16-34-2 ATS in their last 52 home games, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 16-38-1 ATS in their last 55 games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Cleveland and the Rockets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers have been playing a little better lately but they’re working through some new rotations now that Kevin Love is out with the hand injury. With that being said, this looks like a bad team for the Cavaliers to be facing a red-hot Rockets team who are coming off a big win over the Spurs. The road team has covered in each of the last five meetings and I think that trend continues here as the Rockets pull away in the second half for the win and cover.
