The Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic duke it out at the Amway Center on Saturday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 14 of their last 15 games and they will be hoping to put a halt to an ugly 12-game losing streak after last night’s 108-102 home loss to the Nuggets. Marc Gasol led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Jarell Martin added 16 points on eight of 12 shooting while Mario Chalmers and Ben McLemore each scored 12 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the three-point line but they had no answer for the Nuggets’ Gary Harris and Will Barton who combined for 50 points on 21 of 32 shooting despite forcing the Nuggets into 22 turnovers. With the loss, Memphis dropped to 18-43 overall and 13-20 at home.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in a real slump but they will be feeling a little better after snapping a seven-game skid with last night’s 115-106 overtime win over the Pistons. Aaron Gordon led the team with 27 points and 13 rebounds, Nikola Vucevic added 22 points with 12 rebounds and six assists while DJ Augustin chipped in with 20 points and nine assists. As a team, the Magic shot a healthy 51 percent from the field and 13 of 36 form the three-point line, but credit this win to the Magic’s defense in the overtime period where the Pistons were held to just two points. With the much-needed win, Orlando improved to 19-43 overall and 12-18 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest, 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. Meawnhile, the Magic are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games against a team below .400 and 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Orlando, the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the under is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings.
The Grizzlies have been one of the worst teams in the league for a while now but they showed plenty of fight in last night’s narrow loss to the Nuggets. The Magic have been almost as bad as the Grizzlies but they are coming into this one fresh off an overtime win over the Pistons which will give them a lift heading towards the end of the season. You really couldn’t bet on either team with much confidence these days, but the home team has covered in four of the last five meetings and I think the Magic keep that trend going with a win and cover here.
