The Detroit Pistons pay a visit to the Quicken Loans Arena to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a real slump lately as they’ve won just two of their past 10 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight loss after falling to the Heat in a 105-96 road loss on Saturday. Blake Griffin led the team with 31 points and six assists, Andre Drummond added 22 points with 18 rebounds and four steals while Reggie Bullock chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Pistons shot just 41 percent from the field and they really struggled for points when Griffin wasn’t on the court as the Pistons were outscored by 16 points in the minutes when he was on the bench. With the loss, Detroit fell to 29-34 on the season and 9-21 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers went on a bit of a run when they first when through their roster shakeup but they’ve lost four of their last six games since the All-Star break and they will be hoping to hoping to snap a two-game skid after Saturday’s 126-117 loss to the Nuggets. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 25 points with 10 rebounds and 15 assists, JR Smith added 19 points while George Hill chipped in with 17 points and four assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 52 percent from the field and nine of 24 from the three-point line but they were always playing from behind after their poor defense allowed the Nuggets to pour on 73 points in the first half. With the loss, Cleveland dropped to 36-26 overall and 21-11 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 0-6 ATS in their last six road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games overall. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 12-37-2 ATS in their last 51 home games, 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a losing record and 18-41-1 ATS in their last 60 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, the over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Cleveland and the Pistons are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Cleveland.
The Pistons just haven’t been able to buy a win these days and they’ve been especially bad when playing away from home as they’ve lost 13 of their last 14 road games. The Cavaliers have really cooled off since the All-Star break and they’ve only covered in six of their past 28 games against teams with losing records. The Cavaliers aren’t the most reliable home team in terms of betting trends, but the home team has covered in eight of the last nine meetings while the Pistons have been terrible on the road no matter who they play. With that being said, I’m taking the Cavaliers to bounce back with a win and cover against the struggling Pistons.
