The Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Utah Jazz have been on a tear lately as they’ve won 15 of their past 17 games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight win after taking down the Magic in a 94-80 home win on Monday. Rudy Gobert dominated the paint with 21 points and 17 rebounds while shooting nine of 10 from the field, Donovan Mitchell added 19 points, Joe Ingles scored 18 points with eight assists while Ricky Rubio chipped in with 12 points and eight assists. As a team, the Jazz shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the three-point line as they dominated the second quarter by 29-15 to lead by 10 points at halftime before holding the Magic to just 13 points in the fourth quarter to finish on top. With the win, Utah improved to 34-30 overall and 21-11 at home.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in pretty good form themselves as they’ve won seven of their past nine games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight win after sneaking past the Bucks in a 92-89 home win on Monday. Bogdan Bogdanovic drained five three-pointers to lead the team with 29 points, Victor Oladipo added 14 points with five assists but committed 10 turnovers while Lance Stephenson and Domantas Sabonis chipped in with 11 points each. As a team, the Pacers shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 17 from the three-point line but they really had to battle for 48 minutes despite leading by as many as 15 points midway through the fourth quarter. With the win, Indiana improved to 37-27 overall and 22-11 at home where they have won three straight.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. Meanwhile, the Pacers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
The Jazz have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’ve won 15 of their last 17 but the Pacers have been in great form themselves, especially at home where they’ve won nine of their last 10. It’s tough to split these teams who look so evenly matched at this stage of the season, so in a pick ‘em situation, I’m going with the Pacers who have already beaten the Jazz in their only meeting this season.
