The Toronto Raptors look to stay hot when they invade Madison Square Garden to battle the New York Knicks on Sunday.
The Toronto Raptors have been on an absolute tear as they’ve won 14 of their last 15 games and they will be gunning for an eighth straight win after taking down the Rockets in a 108-105 home win on Friday. Kyle Lowry drained seven three-pointers on his way to 30 points with six assists, DeMar DeRozan added 23 points while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the three-point line as they set the tone with 32 points in the first quarter, but they really had to fight till the end as the Rockets poured in 62 points in the second half. Defensively, the Raptors could do little to stop James Harden who finished with 40 points on 15 of 22 shooting, but they did a great job of holding the Rockets to a season-low nine three-pointers. With the win, Toronto improved to 48-17 overall and 28-5 at home.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks just haven’t been able to buy a win lately as they’ve lost 14 of their last 15 games and they will be hoping to snap a six-game skid after falling to the Bucks in a 120-112 road loss on Friday. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the team with 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Emmanuel Mudiay chipped in with 19 points while Enes Kanter had 16. As a team, the Knicks shot 48 percent from the field and a miserable seven of 28 from the three-point but they managed to hang with the Bucks all the way until midway through the fourth quarter. With the loss, New York dropped to 24-42 overall and 8-28 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. Meanwhile, the Knicks are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games following a road trip of seven or more days, 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, the Raptors are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall but just 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in New York.
The Knicks have really been struggling lately and they’ve failed to cover in each of their last five home games, so I really find it hard to back them against this red-hot Raptors team coming fresh off a win over the league-leading Rockets. The Raptors have simply been on a roll and they only seem to be getting better as their second unit continues to improve. Give me the Raptors to stay hot with a double-digit win in this one.
