The Sacramento Kings play host to the Miami Heat at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.
The Miami Heat have been in decent form lately as they’ve won six of their past nine games but they will be looking to bounce back after having their two-game win streak snapped by the Trailblazers in a 115-99 road loss on Monday. Goran Dragic led the team with 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Tyler Johnson added 17 points while Justise Winslow chipped in with 15 points, 13 rebounds and four assists off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot 42 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the three-point line as they struggled to hang around with the Trailblazers, getting no closer than six points after falling behind by double-digits early in the game. Dwyane Wade sat out the game with a hamstring injury and is listed as out for Wednesday and the same goes for Hassan Whiteside who is dealing with a left hip injury.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have lost nine of their last 12 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight loss after falling to the Thunder in a 106-101 road loss on Monday. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team with 19 points, Justin Jackson and Garett Temple each scored 15 points while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 11 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Kings shot 40 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the three-point line but they were scrappy on defense and managed to claw their way into the game with a 39-point third quarter, but they managed just 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Thunder ran away with it. With the loss, Sacramento dropped to 21-47 overall and 10-25 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points and 9-2-2 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Meanwhile, the Kings are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games against the Eastern Conference and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 11-2 in the last 13 meetings, the Heat are 21-7 ATS in the last 28 meetings overall and 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Sacramento.
The Heat will once again be shorthanded in this game, but they need to keep winning games to hang onto that eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, so I expect them to come out strong here. The Kings have lost three of their last four games but they were actually very competitive in their loss to the Thunder and they’ve already beaten the Heat in the lone meeting this season. I think the Heat bounce back with an important win and cover in this one.
