The Phoenix Suns travel to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Jazz at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Thursday.
The Phoenix Suns have really been struggling lately as they’ve lost 16 of their last 17 games and they will be aiming to snap a six-game skid after getting blown out by the Cavaliers in a 129-107 home loss on Tuesday. Josh Jackson and TJ Warren each scored 19 points while Devin Booker added 17 points with six assists. As a team, the Suns shot 38 percent from the field and a miserable six of 32 from the three-point line but they were never in this game after falling behind by 38-18 after the first quarter. With the loss, Phoenix dropped to 19-50 overall and 9-25 at home.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been flying under the radar a bit lately but they’ve actually been one of the hottest teams in the league with 19 wins in their last 21 games and they will be gunning for an eighth straight win after beating the Pistons by 110-79 on Tuesday. Rudy Gobert led the team with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Joe Ingles added 17 points with seven rebounds and seven assists while Jonas Jerebko chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 55 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the three-point line as they made it look easy after dominating the first quarter by 42-21. With the win, Utah improved to 38-30 overall and 22-11 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 7-3-2 ATS in the last 12 games following a double-digit loss at home and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games against the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Jazz are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a win, 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 20-9 in the last 29 meetings, the Suns are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings and 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Utah.
The Suns haven’t been able to buy a win lately and they’ve lost three of their last four games by over 20 points so I find it hard to imagine that they could hang with the red-hot Jazz in their own building. The Jazz have covered in seven of the last 11 meetings at home against the Suns and they've already beaten them three times this season. I'm sticking with Utah to get the win and cover at home in this one.
