The Sacramento Kings play host to the Boston Celtics at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.
The Boston Celtics went through a mini slump with three losses in four outings, but they've bounced back with a couple of wins on the trot after taking down the Trailblazers in a 105-100 road win on Friday. Marcus Morris led the team with 30 points on nine of 13 shooting, Terry Rozier added 16 points but shot just four of 14 from the field while Jayson Tatum chipped in with 13 points and four assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 18 from the three-point line but this game was all about their hustle in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Trailblazers by 38-23 to overcome a 12-point deficit. With the win, Boston improved to 49-23 overall which is currently good for second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have lost four of their last seven games but they will be looking to build on Thursday's 105-90 home win over the lowly Hawks. Justin Jackson led the team in scoring with 20 points on seven of eight shooting, Buddy Hield and Frank Mason III each scored 16 points while Kosta Koufos chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Kings shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 21 from the three-point line as they rallied in the second half to beat the slumping Hawks in front a small crowd. With the win, Sacramento improved to 24-49 overall and 13-23 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record, 51-25-2 ATS in their last 78 road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Meanwhile, the Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings, the Celtics are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in Sacramento.
The Celtics have played great in their last couple of wins and there's news that Jaylen Brown is likely to return for this game after sitting out the last seven games with concussion. The Kings actually haven't been too bad lately but they've already played the Celtics once this season which resulted in a 113-86 loss back on Nov 1. The Kings will be looking for revenge but I just don't think they'll have enough to hang with the Celtics who look to be heating up after two comeback victories in a row.
