The Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets duke it out at the Pepsi Center on Monday night.
The Portland Trailblazers seem to have hit a bit of a wall as they’ve lost four of their last six games and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after falling to the Spurs in a 116-105 road loss on Saturday. Damian Lillard led the team with 33 points and five assists, Evan Turner added 18 points with four assists while CJ McCollum chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 47 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the three-point line as they were right there with the Spurs until the second half where they were outscored by 62-49 as they just had no answer for the Spurs’ more efficient offense. With the loss, Portland dropped to 48-32 which is still good for third place in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets are really making a push to get that eighth seed in the Western Conference as they will be aiming for a sixth straight win after beating the Clippers by 134-115 on Saturday. Will Barton led the team in scoring with 31 points on 11 of 15 shooting, Nikola Jokic racked up a triple-double of 23 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists while Jamal Murray chipped in with 19 points and seven assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot a ridiculous 62 percent from the field and scored at least 33 points in each quarter blow past the Clippers who just couldn’t make their threes. With the win, Denver improved to 45-35 which is good for ninth place in the Western standings.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss of more than 10 points and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the Trailblazers are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Denver.
There is so much on the line in this game as the Trailblazers fight to keep their third seed while the Nuggets are fighting for the eighth seed. The Trailblazers have been a solid bet all season as they’re 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record and 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Denver, but the Nuggets have won five in a row, two by overtime and they’re riding a six-game win streak at home. I’m going with the Nuggets to come out on top in a close one.
