The Sacramento Kings have been in a bit of a slump as they’ve lost five of their last seven games but they will be looking to build on Friday’s 94-93 win at Memphis. Willie Cauley-Stein led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Buddy Hield added 14 points off the bench while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 13 points and four assists. As a team, the Kings shot 47 percent from the field and six of 24 from the three-point line but they got themselves back into the game in the third quarter with defense before escaping with the unlikely win on a clutch shot from Bogdan Bogdanovic with 1.1 second remaining. With the win, Sacramento improved to 26-54 overall and 13-27 on the road.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been a little inconstant lately but they were able to avoid a third straight defeat with a 116-105 win over the Trailblazers on Saturday. LaMarcus Aldridge led the team with 28 points on 13 of 22 shooting, Dejounte Murray and Manu Ginobili scored 17 points apiece while Rudy Gay chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Spurs shot a healthy 56 percent from the field while committing just seven turnovers as they dominated the second half by 62-49 to run away with the game. With the win, San Antonio improved to 46-34 overall which is good for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. Meanwhile, the Spurs are 9-0 ATS in their last nine home games, and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings and the Kings are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.
The Spurs looked great in their win over the red-hot Trailblazers and they could really shoot up the standings if they just win the last two games of the regular season so they’ll be ready for this one. The Kings have been surprisingly good in their last few games despite having nothing to play for at this stage of the season, but I’m not too excited about their last-second win over the lowly Grizzlies. The Spurs own a 3-0 series lead against the Kings and I think they complete the season sweep with a double digit win here.
