Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors - 4/20/18 NBA Pick, Odds, and Prediction

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards need a victory here in order to have a realistic chance of getting back in this series. The Washington Wizards are averaging 112.5 points on 48.3 percent shooting and allowing 122 points on 52.4 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 14 points and two rebounds while John Wall is averaging 26 points and 12 assists. Mike Scott is the third double-digit scorer and Markieff Morris is grabbing 7.5 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc and 89.1 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 44.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34.5 rebounds per game. The Washington Wizards have split their last eight home games.

The Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wizards are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Conference Quarterfinals games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Washington, 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

You can expect a better effort from the Washington Wizards now that they're at home and pretty much in a must-win situation in a 0-2 hole. However, the Wizards have been so badly outplayed in this series that I'm not sure it's going to make a difference. The Raptors are getting whatever they want offensively and the Wizards simply don't have the scoring depth to keep up when those shots are falling. I came into the playoffs saying the Wizards were the worst team in the field, and they've done nothing in two games to prove me wrong. The defense has been brutal, and there's no chance if Beal continues to shoot under 40 percent from the field and under 30 percent from three. Bottom line, we're getting the better team and a free bucket. You can never go wrong with that, regardless of the rest of the hoopla.
